Chief is a sweet little boy who was found as a stray, and was lucky enough to find his way into the arms of a SGPA volunteer. He’s a busy, happy, baby, and will be ready to find his forever family in the next few weeks.

Chief came to us as a stray and he’s had no issues at all with settling in. He’s a super sweet and very happy little guy. He LOVES people and being held or falling asleep in your lap. He’s also been getting along great with his canine foster brothers and sister. He just wants to fit in and play with them, even if he is much smaller. He’s still learning that their food bowls are not his, but he just watches them hoping to get some. He’s not a “rush” eater and will just take his time eating his food. He gets distracted easily so we’ve had to stay close by him while he’s eating to keep him focused.

He loves playing with toys and prefers running around with a tennis ball in his mouth or laying around chewing on a bone. He doesn’t like the rain so potty training was a bit difficult when we first got him (raining for three days) but once the rain stopped he’s been doing great learning to hold it and go outside.

He sleeps in a crate at night and he hasn’t had any accidents in there. He seems to be able to hold it really well at night. He rides great in a car but we think he still associates it with being taken somewhere to stay so he’s kind of sad, but gets excited when we get home.

He really is a smart little boy and we feel that he will do great with some training. He’s been doing great at learning what he’s not allowed to do and responds well to being told no. It really seems like he’s remembering well. He hasn’t figured out a leash yet and is just getting used to having a collar on all the time. We feel that he will do very well in a family that will give him lots of attention, and have kids and/or other dogs to keep him occupied. We don’t know how he does around cats as we do not have any, but he’s very adaptable to his surroundings and would likely do just fine, as long as they want to play with him.

Whoever adopts Chief will be one lucky family! This little boy has a lot of love to give and puppy breath kisses to go along with it! We’re going to miss him!
